What does Global Urban Forest do?

G.U.F. are leading specialists in Plant Health Care, building healthy soils to improve individual tree health in the Urban Forest.

Measuring tree and soil health with advanced scientific and detailed holistic approach is our method. Our goal is to optimise the health of the Urban Forest through enhancing soil health, arresting accelerating tree decline and applying functional scientific value to trees.

With decades of experience in biological soil health management, G.U.F uses an evidence-based approach to tree health and management. Firstly, G.U.F establishes baseline plant and soil health data. Then locally specific data benchmarks are taken and recorded to provide the basis for customised plant health care responses. This data is importantly used to measure changes in plant health as a result of Plant Health Care treatment.

Urban Forest soil and plant health is not widely considered, measured or quantified and is often the cause of early tree mortality.

G.U.F. has developed, and continues to research and refine, methodologies to more accurately measure plant health and the functional value that trees provide. Measurements include soil health data, photosynthetic function, soil Co2 respiration, soil carbon, canopy cooling effects plus conventional Visual Tree Assessment for urban trees.
